I think you can try systemimager3.0.0-1 rpm package.
The e1000.o module is included in the initrd.img.
And it will be loaded without sys's hardware check.
Or you can manually add it to initrd.img.
BTW: I can't build it from source on RH EL2.9, it breaks
 at jfsutil, while I succeed on RH7.3.

Subject: RE: [Sisuite-users] where can i find e1000.o

hi dann,
thanx for the reply.
this afternoon i dir download the 3.0.1 sources and tried a "make all"
which ended in a lot of errormessages (remember this is done on a suse
9.0
distribution). should it be necessary go this road any further i will
provide you with the details . but for now:
triggerd by the phrase "newer driver" in your message i tried to use one
of the "unstable" versions (3.1.5) of the boot package.
this brought up the same messages.

are there any boot switches i could try to use to make the boel-kernel
detect the e1000 ??
the current layout of the APPEND= line in the pxelinux config file is:
APPEND vga=extended load_ramdisk=1 prompt_ramdisk=0 initrd=initrd.img.7
root=/dev/ram rw ramdisk_blocksize=4096

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ grep E1000
/home/dannf/cvs/systemimager-3.0.x/patches/linux.i386.config
CONFIG_E1000=y

it is already included statically - maybe you need a newer driver?

if you need a newer driver, you'll need to rebuild the kernel &
boel_binaries.
instructions are in the FAQ in the manual.
