Antonio:
There isn't a current ebuild for gentoo yet. I've been meaning to give it a whirl, but work keeps getting in the way. I have installed it from the source tarballs on Gentoo without significant hassles, though. Maybe this weekend I will write up some documentation for it, since the issue comes up more often these days.

You really are better off installing a second node to act as the golden image. If you use the master, you will have a heck of a time keeping the machinery of systemimager server off from the clients. In theory, you could do the install in a chroot on the server, but I haven't tried this myself yet, so I can't vouch for it's safety or feasability.

Hello everybody

I just joined the List. I run a Lab with tens of PCs running Gentoo Linux.

Now we have got a new 8 proliant Dual Xeon cluster and I would like to
replicate the first and already gentoo installed node to all others
(that does not have neither cdrom nor floppy drivers).

I have already installed SystemImager 3.0.1 with an ebuild I got from
internet.

Does someone has experience working whith gentoo & SysteImager?

If so, first: where can I get the ebuild for the last version (if I
should upgrade it?).

second: can I use the server as the "golden client" or I must install
Linux in a second node in order to create the first image?

Thanks in advance
