It's designed for managing large groups of machines. It allows one to make groups of hosts on a central server and distribute software, execute commands, etc etc, accordingly.

Can be a little tricky to set up, but once you have it running the maintainability is great because it is _very_ configurable.
Kind regards,
Ramon.

Hi experts,
We are using systemimager for two years. Thanks for a great tool.
We have a few machines with the same linux distribution ( RH9 ), but different configuration, kernel and some packages has been added or deleted. It would be nice to save disk space because most of the files are the same on all machines.
Is it possible to do something like : - change getimage script, so it is possible to specify "base image" to compare with , write all extra or modified files to "overrides" directory and make list of files to delete or exclude. In this case, "base image" will be the same for all machines with the same distribution, and we can save a lot of disk space.
Also, it will be easy to use systemimager as system backup tool.
Best Regards, Marat
