Subject: RE: [Sisuite-users] New SATA/SCSI/e1000/bcm5700 kernel out
Hey Peter:
I got a SATA_SIL 3112 adapter and for whatever
reason the HD connected
to it is being picked up as hda with the 2.4.25
kernel. 2.6 kernel
correctly recognizes it as sda (which I want).
I have heard that newer
versions of 2.4 kernel has this fix too, I tried
building it but the
node always hang when it boots off the SIS kernel.
I guess I'll keep
trying...
Cheers,
Bernard

Yes. Specifically, here's what this kernel has:

- build through SI's 'make kernel'.
