What happens when you try to execute the umount command on the prompt?
Did it give you any more details to what the problem is?

BTW, on your golden image, it has SystemImager 3.6.3 right?

It definitely helps to have a clean install, as it will help with
troubleshooting knowing you have a clean slate.
