I had this same problem before.

The documentation is wrong.  you need the boot_i386 package installed on the 
client for si_prepareclient to operate.  Use aptitude to select the package 
and then make sure systemimager-server doesn't go in.

Be forwarned you might run into alot of bugs using 3.6.3.  I did and it took 
about 4 days of work to get a usable imaging workflow.
