Are you using the kernel in:

/usr/share/systemimager/boot/x86_64/my_image/kernel

What's the output of:

$ file /usr/share/systemimager/boot/x86_64/my_image/kernel

And what are the kernels available in
/var/lib/systemimager/images/my_image/boot? Could you check which kernel
is taken by si_prepareclient (UYOK)?
