Hello,

I have been trying to set up a 16 node cluster with ubuntu 7.10, but without
much success.
I started off by making the debian packages to install systemimager 4.0.2.
Everything seemed OK, until running si_clusterconfig routine, that did not go
interactive at all. It only thing it did was throwing the following text on
the screen.

sh: Illegal option -p
Caching XML configuration to /var/lib/systemimager/scripts/cluster.txt ... [
OK ]
Synchronizing /etc/hosts to /var/lib/systemimager/scripts/hosts ... [ OK ]

Given that si_clusterconfig did not work, I ran si_addclients, which seemed to
have worked fine. Therefore, I just stopped trying to make si_clusterconfig
work.

I even got the golden client mirrored on to another node, which had a previous
Fedora 5 installation on it, in a different hard drive (yeah, each node has
two hard drives). Then, things started getting weird. Firstly, the node would
keep rebooting and getting installed over and over. I even set this node for
a localboot with si_mkclientnetboot, without success.

I imagined that once a node get installed, it would automatically start
locally after rebooting, which did not happen.

In order to check if the system had really got installed on the node, I first
stopped the dhcp server, hopping that the new system would start. However,
for my surprise, Fedora 5 started. At least we were able mount the second
hard drive and check that the ubuntu system was in fact installed.

Sorry for the long email, but I am completely lost and I have no clue about
what to do next and make the node start locally after the installation.

Regards,
Marcelo Tomim.
