As for the rpm versionning, why don't you set the version to 4.2.0 and the release to 0.1svn4555-bli ? As 0.* is <1, when 4.2.0-1 will be out, it'll get updated. This is the trick used by Mandriva Linux and it is very convenient. for example, when I build my systemimager rpms, I do the following: systemimager-server-4.2.0-0.2svn5510.el5 systemimager-flamethrower-4.2.0-0.2svn5510.el5 systemimager-x86_64initrd_template-4.2.0-0.2svn5510.el5 systemimager-x86_64boot-standard-4.2.0-0.2svn5510.el5 systemimager-bittorrent-4.2.0-0.2svn5510.el5 systemimager-common-4.2.0-0.2svn5510.el5 systemimager-client-4.2.0-0.2svn5510.el5 0.2 means it's the second revision of the spec file for this particular systemimager snapshot.
