Hi Justin/others,

The 3.0 version if iSilo is out, and it's great! I have been using it
with sitescooper for a little while now.

I would like to update to the 3.0b1 version of iSiloXC, the new
commandline version of the iSilo encoder, however they've changed the
way it works. Instead of passing a myriad of command line options,
iSiloXC now accepts a couple of xml files which define what the app is
supposed to do. The format is reasonably simple, and is documented here:
http://www.isilox.com/support/manual/ixl/ixl.htm

I would make this change myself, but it's been a long time since I've
done any perl (this is probably a bad time to plug python, right? :),
and it's probably easier for someone more familiar with the codebase.
However the change itself is reasonably easy:

        open a temp file
write the options file, probably as a template
invoke iSiloXC with the temp file
        remove the temp file

Given the relatively limited availability (ie windows only just now) of
the iSiloXC tool, it's probably worth adding iSiloXC as an alternative
(not replacement) to iSiloC32.

Hope someone can find the time to implement this.

Thanks,
