Who has time to go to web forum pages for every project they're
interested in? Or are most people only ever interested in one or
two projects?
The forum looks like an okay place for archiving site files (but, um,
does that mean that there's no chance of getting them checked in to CVS
any more, for future releases? Do we need a new site file archive
somewhere?)
But realistically, for discussions, that assumes that everyone is going
to remember to check the web forum page on a regular basis, for every
project they're interested in, look for new threads that might be
interesting, click on those threads to see if there's anything
interesting ... it's a lot more cumbersome than just glancing at
the new mail that came in overnight. Most people are not going to
bother, especially if a few weeks go by without anything interesting
going on.

If the problem with the mailing list is that no one has started any
interesting discussions about designing site files, then maybe someone
should start one. :-)
