It works like a debit card. I can put money into it just like a paypal card. But trying to get it funded by Treasury after several years of research on the matter I have found no way to fund it using bonds, alleged BC trust etc. I have several who have the card and actually own TBills and TNotes in which they take their interest or when they become due and payable the FRN credit goes on the card. But the fascination with this "nothing more than a prepaid Wal-Mart" card shows me that a high value is placed on a piece of plastic where in many have been scammed for hundreds to fill out that form. Well, I actually know one female who is wanted in several states using the card to further her scams. As for can I use the card today......sure if I load it! ----- Original Message ----- From: "terian" <[email protected]>

Perhaps a better question is: Can you use the card today to do
financial transactions associated normally with a debit card?

Thanks for your answer

Yes, me and that was three years ago.. There is no funding in the account, still working on that part. It is nothing more than a holding account. Of course if we ever figure out how to fund it,would be great. Reason that I posted it was many people could not find the form to get the account and card. Many scams have been used by people to get money for doing the application. Some were charged up to $500 for the "service".

Guys,
EVEN MORE RECENT UPDATE: Legacy Acct is Social Security Trust Acct

Two of my friends found that you can access this Public Debt Form on line. The form instructs you to mail it into: Treasury Retail Securities, which is the Federal Reserve Bank. The following cite will take you directly to Form 5182.

Dale

http://treasurydirect.gov/forms/sec5182.pdf

update:
The telephone number (800) 722-2678 is for the Bureau of Public Debt. You telephone them to request Form# 5182. Complete the form according to the instructions and file it into the Federal Reserve Bank nearest you. Your legacy account will be deposited into that Trust and I believe you will receive a debit card from the Federal Reserve.
