Yes. Select the partial first line in the column in the regular way,  
use the selection rectangle (option key) to select the full lines  
below it in the column, and then use regular selection to select the  
partial last line. Click the first partial line, shift-click the  
selected block under it, and then shift-click the final partial line.  
The three separate notes will be aggregated into one note. I recently  
found out about this myself and it's very useful.
