The bug has been fixed and will be in the next version of Skim. You can grab a fixed copy here:
http://skim-app.sourceforge.net/Skim.app.zip

I tried it and the new version fixes the problem with the Notes preferences. (Tiger 10.4.11 Intel)

Thanks, I'll try to put out a new release tomorrow.

In any case, I don't think the files you listed below are Skim files and I would not delete them. AFAIK, the only skim preferences are: /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/net.sourceforge.skim- app.skim.plist /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/net.sourceforge.skim- app.skim.bookmarks.plist

The files you (=Steven) listed are system preferences (as you can see from the "com.apple" part in the file names). After seeing this I wouldn't trust AppDelete for a bit, I advice you to delete it (though not using AppDelete ;-).

BTW, for most Cocoa apps uninstalling means dragging the app to the trash. The preferences are located in Preferences and use the bundle identifier as filename. Usually this is a file whose name is a reverse DNS style based on the web domain for the app and the app name. You can also delete it from Terminal by typing "defaults delete -app <AppName>". In addition, some apps use a folder in ~/Library/ Application Support usually with the name of the app. Though leaving the support files behind won't lead to problems, and it's not that much memory waste, compared to present day's hard disk space (e.g. my whole Preferences folder is only 13MB).

Tiger 10.4.11. The same crashing problem as previously reported by others when trying to select 'Notes' in Preferences. I'd just like to fully remove Skim. AppDelete shows (in addition to the obvious files) these three files:

1.Macintosh HD:Users:Steven:Library:Preferences:com.apple.diskimages.fsck 2.Macintosh HD:Users:Steven:Library:Preferences:com .apple.frameworks.diskimages.plist 3.Macintosh HD:Users:Steven:Library:Preferences:com .apple.frameworks.diskimages.uiagent.plist

I don't know what they do and want to know if I can safely trash them. Thanks.
