Rotate the page (e.g. with command + R) 3. Add freehand note 4. Export the pdf with embedded notes. 5. Open the exported pdf (e.g. in Skim). 6. See that the notes was not saved. To export the notes a work around is to use command + L after step 3, then the notes are properly exported.
