Are you talking about the page background color?
First of all, we have changed absolutely nothing related to any background
color.
Second, we are not involved in drawing any background color (unless you use a
hidden pref), that is 100% Apple. It's also Apple that handles the password
input and the unlocking.
Third, I see no problem here with password protected documents.
