You might like the atchange program I invented which makes that easier: https://alum.mit.edu/www/toms/atchange.html I set up atchange to watch the latex source and trigger running latex. Skim watches the pdf and updates. So I can stay in my editor (vim) and never move my fingers from the keyboard to see the changes. Tom Thomas D.
