I have been using this combination (Skim Zoom) for ages and as recent as 4 weeks ago. I do my presentations in LyX/Beamer/LuaLateX though.
I will use it on Monday again, with the very latest versions of Zoom and Skim. I share my whole screen not just the Skim window, but will try the latter as well over the weekend I also have a view other options on standby should this be a drama.
