I use skim all the time and find it to be a fabulous program. But every once in awhile the settings I like get changed and I am unable to fix it.
I want my PDFs to show up in a tight window around the PDF with minimal space around the PDF. I can adjust the size of the window by hand and then use the button 'Zoom To Fit' to do this. But I don't want to have to do this every time. Under the 'PDF' tab is the last option, 'Use Current View Settings as Default'. I thought that would do the trick but it does not stick anymore. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Skim Preferences / General doesn't have any obvious help. I think it would help to make all preferences in one place and make this method (tight display, zoom to fit) easy to set up. Thanks, Tom Thomas D.
