Yes (and I should have said "equinox", not epoch). An animation using 10 day increments covering the latter half of the year 1577 is interesting. CdC says that 1577 I is now 318 au from the sun! But like many comets, the orbit is so elliptical that the difference of e from 1 can't be reliably determined, so a value of 1 is used. > > I know what H is but don't know the value for this object, and I > > have no idea what "G" is, > >Nor do I. > > > so I left those, and "reference", unchanged. > >I left them blank. I'll try inputting something. H is absolute magnitude (see <http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iau/lists/Sizes.html>) which I guess would really only apply to the comet's nucleus, not including the coma and tail, but at any rate, if you left it blank, CdC wouldn't be able to calculate the brightness. -John _________________________________________________________________ MSN Toolbar provides one-click access to Hotmail from any Web page FREE download! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200413ave/direct/01/ ------------------------ Yahoo!
