Jules,

There are two ways to get dim star catalogs.  One is with the on line 
resources toolbar button.  You can download the GSC2.2 or the USNO 
A2.0 for your particular fov up to 1 degree.  This of course doesn't 
get the full catalog on your HD.

Or you could contact the gentlemen at Project Pluto to see if they 
are still passing the 11 CD set of the USNO A2.0 catalog around for 
people to copy.
