"Doh!" Thanks. But for some reason, when I did, it didn't work for me. I got the error messages "Error in catalog C1577test line=11" and " `.1' is not a valid floating point value" (black screen, no chart). Couldn't see any reason for that. Opened the .dat file in Notepad. Thought I could edit or delete line 11. Saw that CdC had reformatted the file, so I deleted it and recreated it with Paste, resaved the definition, and... Success! --- well, not complete success. When I zoomed in, the "object name" labels all appeared (including the catalog name), even if I had never clicked on them, so it was all overlap and black space. I had to turn off star names (letters) to solve that problem. > You can also try the test version 3.0 of the program I have it, but maybe it doesn't yet do some things that 2.75 will. (Crashes, too.) By the way, what directory should MySQL be in? I installed it in its own (default) directory, and it doesn't run. (Icon appears for a few seconds on the taskbar every time I start up the machine, then disappears.) > that let you plot the path of the comet only without garbage from > the moon or other planet. I have those things turned off anyway. (I'm covering a 15-year time span.) > The elongation is the length of the arc from the Sun to the comet. > Patrick Sean ------------------------ Yahoo!
