Hello Everyone
After using "Carte Du Ciel" for a good number of years on my Windows based computers:I was a Little disappointed to find that the programme was not available to me when I changed to a Machintosh running OS 10. and X11.I felt better when after a search of the newsgroups I found this Yahoo forum along with this website http://sourceforge.net/projects/skychart/ I wonder if someone with more knowledge than I could have a quick look when they have a spare moment and let me know if this will in actual fact run under X11 (I read it that it will).I have; on the off chance downloaded the platform independant skychart_v3_alpha006_source.tar.gz but quite frankly do not know what to do with it.I know this is off topic for this group so all I need to know is if I am on the right track regarding the possability of running "Carte Du Ciel" on this machine,in which case I can then start researching how to handle the downloaded file.
