Patrick, I'm getting an access-forbidden error on the file link you attached, so I haven't yet tested the changes.
After I wrote last night, I ran across the anomaly about not crashing with a second program running too. I would up having WinAmp streaming a web stream, and CDC never crashed once. I've verified all of drivers on my test machines are up to date, and will test the new changes as soon as I download them, and report back. Thanks again, Rick Kunath -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Patrick Chevalley Sent: Sunday, December 11, 2005 6:19 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [skychart-discussion] V 3.09 planetrender.dll access violation at shutdown only Hi, I worked on this problem with no real success for a few time. The difficulty is the apparent randomness and the fact I never get it during a debug session. After I read your message I return to look at this and fortuitously I find an essential property of this bug: It appear only if no other application is open. This is why I never get it with the debugger. Also with no other application if you click on the desktop and return to CDC it close fine without message. Now I can reproduce the bug at any time it is much more easy to trace. The problem is during freeing a bitmap from the main application as the bitmap is apparently also freed by planetrender.dll in GLScene code. The randomness of the bug is probably due to the order the two free event occur but it is difficult to be sure without the runtime debugger. You can get the updated cdc_vcl.exe here: http://www.ap-i.net/tmp/cdc.zip I am interested to know if this also solve the problem for you. Patrick Yahoo! Groups Links ------------------------ Yahoo!
