It looks as though he is parsing the D,M,S to a single decimal number and when the 00d is added to the remainder the sign is lost. Adding 0 or +0 to anything doesn't change the sine of the number. Anyway I bet if you have 00d00m31s you would probably need to extend the sign to the seconds. i.e. 00d-00m-31s Bob
