I finished up installing 2.76, copying across all the catalogs I had used on the other PC (including gsc!), then installing 3.0beta. Everything is working well, even the Schwassmann Wachmann 73p components. So far the only (small) problem I've encountered is the Milky Way spreading along the horizon line a bit on either side of where it should be. 3.0 looks very good indeed, logical, pleasing to look at and easy to use.
