Geoff,
I'm saving it as a CdC chart. A BMP can not be loaded by CdC so that
wouldn't work with my scenario, right?
When I save the settings and the chart and then restart CdC and reload the
chart (and settings) I expect things to look identical. They don't.

Are you saving the chart in ".cdc" format, or are you saving it as an
image file? If you save it as a .bmp file all the labels, paths, etc.
should be there. In .cdc the chart loads based on the default options
saved at the last program exit.
