Sander:

My experience in both versions 2 & 3 has been that a chart saved to
.cdc format saves all of the "static" objects, stars, nebulae, planet
positions for the chart date/time, etc.  It won't save anything that's
"temporal", like a plot of ephemeris positions for a comet, asteroid,
or satellite that has to read an external orbital elements file.

These can only be saved as image files.
