If you've been debating getting a laptop to run CdC in the field
Tigerdirect now has a pretty decent one for $399 after rebate:

it. It comes with XP home but you could stick Linux on it if you prefer.
Celery M, 60 GB HD, 512MB RAM, DVD burner, widescreen, wifi, ethernet,
modem. No serial port but with a $20 USB adapter that's no issue.
