Not quite, but you can come close.  Click preferences>labels>options.  In this
window, under the last column "limit magnitude", set the number for the "stars"
row to about 3 or 4 or 5 (lower number will label more stars).  At 5, only the
brightest stars are labelled.  At 3, a few will be faint enough to not have
common names.

IIRC, this number means how much brighter (in magnitudes) a star must be
compared to the lower limit you set for _displaying_ stars, in order for it to
be labelled.  So the specific number in the previous paragraph will be affected
by the magnitude limits you set for displaying stars.  I've changed the
magnitude limits in my copy of the program and don't recall what the defaults
are, so YMMV.
