Not quite, but you can come close. Click preferences>labels>options. In this window, under the last column "limit magnitude", set the number for the "stars" row to about 3 or 4 or 5 (lower number will label more stars). At 5, only the brightest stars are labelled. At 3, a few will be faint enough to not have common names. IIRC, this number means how much brighter (in magnitudes) a star must be compared to the lower limit you set for _displaying_ stars, in order for it to be labelled. So the specific number in the previous paragraph will be affected by the magnitude limits you set for displaying stars. I've changed the magnitude limits in my copy of the program and don't recall what the defaults are, so YMMV. -John ____________________________________________________________________________________ Food fight?
