Thanks, John. I'll give it a try.
Actually I was also playing with the latest v3 beta, and it turns out
that "common names" is now one of the star label options, exactly what
I was looking for. He also added another feature that I was kind of
missing - quick buttons to go forward/backward a given time unit.

All in all version 3 looks REALLY nice, I wonder when it out of beta.
