Thanks for answering Sander.

I have tried all those things and "tinkered" with all settings I can 
imagine.  I have uninstalled, deleted all remaining files and data 
(so they wouldn't be used in the re-install) and re-installed.  I 
have added the version 2.76 and it's update into the folder to see if 
I was missing a component.  I have overwritten with the latest binary 
snapshot.

Nothing brings those nice nebula lines into view.  The closest thing 
I have is when I use the pictures as a substitute, but it's not near 
as nice.

How do I find my .ini file if I were to chose to upload it?

Any other ideas.
