Hi Mel,
I have had a quick (emphasise quick) look through the (fairly ancient)
copy of version 3 source that I have. The drop down box seems to be
loaded from a file with a path/name that is hard-coded relative to the
executable (cdc.exe) itself:
catalog.LoadStarName(slash(appdir)+slash('data')+slash('common_names')+'StarsNames.txt');
which in window$ is probably
...progam_files\ciel\data\common_names\StarsNames.txt
Also, if it doesn't find the file, it just ignores it silently (no
errors or anything)
As your file is in the right place, check that the executable you are
actually running really is in the appdir relative to the path to the
file (...progam_files\ciel in the example above).
If that doesn't help, I have no idea !
It is entirely possible that this has changed since my version.
I am out of "download" at the moment ( :-( ) until an ISP upgrade
kicks in at the end of the week ( :-) ). If you haven't had a more
helpful answer by then I'll get the current version (high time I did
anyway) and have another look.
cheers,
John
