No, but v3 is basically a complete re-work of the program, so there are big
differences between the two versions, so it's frustrating when people ask
questions but don't bother to mention which one they're using. As a group
moderator, I just checked to see if I could edit the description on the group
page to add "When asking questions, please specify which version you're using",
but it appears I don't have sufficient moderator privileges to do that.

For your question, click preferences>lables>options (or the label icon (lower
left toolbar)>options). Note the "limit: magnitude" at the right end of the
"Nebulas" line. For a nebula to be labeled, it must be this many magnitudes
brighter than the display limit (that's the number you set for different FOV
sizes under "nebula size limits" at the bottom of the
preferences>catalogs>nebula window (note this is set by both size and
magnitude)). I have mine set at 4, so only the brighter deep-sky objects are
labeled. You might want to set it to 2 or 3 so more objects will be labeled.
If you set it to 0, all displayed DSOs will be labeled.

The same idea applies to star catalogs.

If you have a very deep catalog like the PGC galaxy catalog, then for the
magnitude limit for the smallest FOV, change that from 99 to about 20, or every
little galaxy will be labelled.

The exact labels will depend on which catalog(s) are "active" for your FOV,
since objects can have different designations in different catalogs.
