I haven't used v3.x yet but in 2.76 the units are arcminutes.  For the program 
to know the field size based on only the chip size, it would have to know the 
focal length of the scope.

If you connect to the scope via ASCOM, that number might be in the ASCOM scope 
settings somewhere, but I don't think all ASCOM scope drivers have that 
setting, and even if they did, you'd have to change it everytime you use a 
focal reducer or barlow.
