I hope so. I'm still using v2.76, but on a closely related issue, I always wished it was possible to click on a random point on the screen and say "sync here" when trying to sync between CdC and the scope when imaging, but it will only let you do that at the position of a particular database object. So I have to fudge around with the keypad taking multiple short exposures to get an object very well centered, before syncing. It would be so much easier to just click on the point on-screen that appears at the center of the image and say "sync here".
