I noticed the same problem with my new Windows 7 laptop after I installed the 
Windows x64 version.  So I installed the 32-bit version and that seemed to fix 
the problem.

It seems that in the configuration dialog, under system/setup/telescope, you 
can't select "ascom.tid" in the "telescope plugin" box in the x64 version.  In 
the 32-bit version you can.  

Try the 32-bit version and see if it helps you out.
