Hi Doug just want to take a moment of your time to let you know that once again you did a wonderful job. Also I understand that it was a hard choice to make leaving behind some of the older jaws versions, so as a jaws scripter myself let me say to the hole list that you did the right thing. I already note how much more responsive the new scripts are as opposed to the previous version. This sluggishness was a result of backward compatibility. Redefining the hot key works grate although I would still like to recommend jaws accent as the default command for this. or maybe alt accent. Moving through tabs is the accent with the control and reading chats is done with the alt so having consistency here I would think the alt accent would make sense. Beside it would not conflict with anything I know of because nothing what so ever uses this key. In a nutshell, adding Use "skypewatch.jsb" to the shared default.jss does not allow the SkypeWatch scripts to see events, like when text is written to the screen or a new window is created, because default.jss catches the events and does not pass them on. The method I propose actually puts SkypeWatch ahead of default.jss in the pecking order, and I then pass all events on to default.jss as appropriate, so everybody gets what they need. The only reason SkypeWatch can work without doing this is that I wrote a polling system for that scenario that makes JAWS continually ask Skype questions all the time to find out if it missed anything. I have modified the default file by adding my own scripts with the "use *.jsb", also. What do I need to do in order to make the SkypeWatch work? I've got JAWS 9.0, the very last version. -- With best regards, Andre Skype: Francophile ICQ #191749952 Windows Live&MSN: arthaelon(at)yandex.ru Jabber: arthaelon(at)jabber.org --------------Original message--------------- From: Doug Lee <[email protected]> To: skypeenglish at emissives.com Date: Monday, February 4, 2008, 6:06:39 AM Subject: [Skypeenglish] Skype Script Revision 618 Released! I have finally put out a new Skype script release, revision 618. The details, which are many, are at my web site, http://www.dlee.org/skype/ This release is for Skype 3.5 and up but will probably work for Skype 3.2 also. I did not test farther back. The release is for JAWS 6.0 and up. There are details on my web site about why I am now only going back to JAWS 6.0, but the short version is that it is getting more and more difficult to do everything in so many JAWS versions at once without slowing down both the maintenance and updating of the code and the actual running of the code on users' machines. Major new features include - Typing alert sounds and announcements in Skype chat windows as for other messengers but with five volume levels for the typing sound, - On-the-fly Skype Command Mode key change support, - Semi-automatic SkypeWatch maintenance after a JAWS update, - Reporting of incoming Skype Prime payment requests, - Better handling of Options/Hotkeys checkboxes, and - A SkypeWatch alert list that does not clear every time you restart JAWS. Other minor fixes and additions: - HTML escapes not lost when copying URLS from chats to clipboard from the JAWS virtual buffer. - Some spurious beeps eliminated. - The "Automatically speak your online status" verbosity option actually works (before, you couldn't really turn it off). - The JAWSKey+V keystroke is now in Hotkey Help as it should be. I am also now managing the code for the executable installer, which includes these fixes: - "JAWSMemDmp" no longer appears as a language choice during installation. This directory is sometimes created by JAWS when it crashes or is aborted by the user but has nothing to do with language support. - A missing sound file for Skype Command mode exit is now included. - Binary (jsb) files are not included in the installer but are instead generated during installation. Compilation during installation (using the executable installer) is no longer optional. The jsb files are currently still included in the zip file though. -- Doug Lee dgl at dlee.org SSB BART Group doug.lee at ssbbartgroup.com http://www.ssbbartgroup.com "The U. S.
