Hello Jim, this is Gary here.
Hello Gary,
Many thanks for this,
you are quite welcome!
I think I understand it now.
I am glad I was able to clarify the issue for you.

But I'm sorry, I have another question:
that is quite alright, I will do my best to answer any questions you might
have.
After all, the only stupid question is the one you do not ask.

If you want me to do it that way, the way you put it
in your last message, how should I go about installing
it in the first place?
The method I outlined below will suffice for maintenance and installation.

Sorry if I'm been such an
idiot! I'm very good at computers, but I just prefer
things in nice simple terms.
There is no problem Doug at some point will be working on an installer which
should do this for you automatically however poor Doug is usually swamped
with work and he has had no time to devote to this project.

It's OK for the time being, I have got SK read. I
really like it. I think it is a very good programme.
I agree with you it is unfortunate that Sean has not updated it lately, and
that he never included the ability for it to use SAPI4.
It would also have been nice if he had added the ability for it to use the
Jaws API and the Window-Eyes API.

There is one thing I like about SKRead and one I like
about SkypeWatch in JAWS:
The one thing I like about SKRead is that it tells you
when a contact goes offline, where as SkypeWatch
doesn't.
skype watch currently cannot do this, because Skype itself does not provide
this information on the tray, and that is where Skype watch gets its
information.
On the other side of the coin, SkypeWatch tells you
when you quit Skype, where as SKRead doesn't.
Actually, it's supposed to, it is supposed to exit, and say, good night.
Instead of doing this, it generally it crashes. I reported this is a bug
to Sean a while back but as I said it has not been updated recently

But one more thing:

I've noticed in the procedure on Dug Lee's website he
has got the 2 file extensions mixed up. At one point
when your doing the script part, he says recompile
default.jsb, shouldn't that be default.jss?
Actually no, you are not compiling the JSS file. You are saving the JSS
files, but what you are doing is you are taking the JSS file, and all the
other script source files, and compiling them into one file the JSB file.
So the way he puts it on his webpage is actually technically correct. You
are compiling the JSB file.
I hope that clears this up.

  I would
really appreciate it if you could pass it on to him
for me.
Actually, I'm going to see see this to the rest of the Skype English list,
so it can be included in the archival material.
>From Gary Price.
Sincerely yours, Jim Grimsby Jr.
