Yes the scripts used to do this. what the scripts did was it scanned the entire Skype contact list looked for changes and then reported the change. if something appeared, Then you were told that the contact came on line. if the contact disappeared. you were told the contact went off-line. The problem with this was that if you had a large contact list scanning the entire contactless could bog down some slower PCs. So the system tray method was used instead.
