I am releasing a Skype script update to fix a few problems people have been having and to let people test a major new feature for Skype chats. The update, per usual, is at
http://www.dlee.org/skype/ This version, which is revision 640, is for Skype 3.5 and later 3.x versions and for JAWS 6.0 and up. I consider this a beta, as the web site says, because not many people have tested it yet. If this version survives testing without requiring changes, it will just become the production release at some point. If updates become necessary, I intend to replace it rather than just adding a new version on top of it. Fixes and features in summary: - New system for virtualizing chat messages, with links (details on the web site and summary below). - No more error messages about creating a Scripting.FileSystemObject. - Typing indication in chats should work even if Skype is not running in English. - Microsoft Outlook contacts should no longer appear in Ctrl+Shift+O lists. - New Skype Command sequences for listing online, away, not available, etc., contacts separately. The new chat virtualization system includes several messages in one JAWS view, makes links of URLs, email addresses, and system-generated links like "Continue last conversation"; and allows quick skimming through chat lists with "Next 100 messages" and "Previous 100 messages" links. Insert+F7 also works from within one of these views, so you can get a list of links from a block of chat lines. As usual, please send all feedback on the scripts to this mailing list so we can all share the wealth. -- Doug Lee dgl at dlee.org SSB BART Group doug.lee at ssbbartgroup.com http://www.ssbbartgroup.com "Determine that the thing can and shall be done, and then...find the way." - Abraham Lincoln
