I can tell you that Skype is now dedicated to making things
accessible, but I'm not sure how smooth this first beta will be for us
yet. Keep in mind, though, that there are several things not in the
first beta, according to that article. As a beta tester, I have been
using the new Skype, with its new interface, for quite a while now; so
it is obviously possible. Between Skype, the company, and some script
updates, we should have our access preserved as we cross this bridge.

Btw, and I'm sure you didn't mean this, but... I know they're not
"trying" to make it harder for us to access Skype. Business models do
make developers change the appearance of a program sometimes. Also, I
so far see no reason why the old Skype would quit working all of a sudden.
That's never been how they do things.

Hi I happened to read about the new beta 4 too and was excited about a new
skype until i came across a paragraph that talked about the changes being
about visuals and stuff mostly. i just hope that this is not a step
backwards for blind users, where they are trying to make it unnecessarily
hard for us to accesss their software.
my skype now is running very well thanks to the awesome scripts provided by
you guysbut i am really afraid things will get overly complicated again. so
i am hoping that the old versions will still be supportedand downloadable if
the new one does not work rightfor us.
maybe also a suggestion for the site to store older versions for ppl who do
need or want to go back to what they had previously installed?

have a great day!
