Unless you have such a bad sound card you can't eaven Skype with it.
That's exactly what happened to me with my laptop. It's a Dell lattitude and
its mike input has a kind of built-in noise gate you can't disable end it
really sounds terrible. I mean, ounds, errible.
In case someone is having the same problem, there's the little "Griffin iMic2"
very cheap adapter with a USB port on one end, and a line/mike in and an audio
out on the other. Real neat. I found it in Paris so I guess your local
RadioShack has it.

The only advantage that comes to my mind is having one cable to plug in
compared to two which can get mixed up if you haven't marked one of them.

I'm reading on this list and I hearing a lot examples how people uses USB
headsets.
Now I wonder, as user who uses standard headset, what are the advantages of
using USB headset instead of classic one plugged in sound card?
I'm using two sound cards, one integrated and other in PCI slot so i don't
have to plug in and out devices like microphone, headphones or headset.

of blind people I know prefer to use standalone soundcards like Creative
Labs or something like that and most of motherboards have integrated audio.
Considering that, what could I get from USB headset except losing one USB

Hi. a usb headset needs it's own driver I believe. I have a usb headset
and it did the same thing. they seem to work fairly well with skype though.
