Doug, I hadn't tried virtualising the window, I'll see if that does any good. Cheers

Subject: Re: [Skypeenglish] A couple of chat issues with the skype beta Virtualizing the message that contains the Play button for the voicemail should make a link out of the Play button, which would allow you to play the voicemail without using the JAWS cursor. I think I saw this fail once, but not in weeks. If it's failing routinely on your system, that is news of note to me. As for Alt+1 saying nothing and Alt+2 working though, that is a known issue that I haven't figured out how to address yet. I'll explain in detail for the curious below, but for those who just want the bottom line, I'll first summarize: The way typing indicators are done now causes blank chat messages like that, and in a chat containing several people, there may be several such blank messages. I had one where alt+1 through alt+6 or so said nothing, for example. The technical details follow, for the curious: Typing indicators in Skype 4 appear as part of the message list. When a typing indicator is visible, JAWS will say the name of the typer if you ask for that message. When the person stops typing, the indicator eventually leaves the screen, but in MSAA, which is what JAWS and the scripts use to read chat messages, the entry in the list may remain anyway even though it contains nothing. Sometimes the entry goes away though, and then JAWS may say, "1 chat message no longer shown." I'm not sure which is worse: having a few extra blank entries or being told something that sounds like it means I lost access to something. <smile> So this issue remains under consideration. Also, regarding voicemails, I'm finding that I have to use the jaws cursor to play a voicemail. I have a feeling Doug may have mentioned this before, but I can't remember.
