I do not find myself with this problem.  I don't know why you would though.

In my humble opinion, they are not supposed to work together.  If you are 
recording a conversation, you wouldn't need your voicemail, and when you 
need your voicemail, you wouldn't need to make a recording of a 
conversation, synce, in the first place, no conversation is taking plase for 
it is one way, and in the second place, the voicemail function would record 
the messege for you.
