Hello again, are you using Windows XP home? It is very strange that alt f 4 doesn't close the Skype window. It works on my computer. What happens when you press alt f4? of course, you can also assign a hotkey to open and close Skype window. This is done in Skype's options menu. You have to go down to the hotkey thumbnail which is the last one . This is a strange window that is not too friendly with jaws. First is a checkbox to unable hotkeys, and then the list of functions you can assign hot keys to. In order to scroll through this list, you have to use the left and right arrows. The tab key doesn't work. Then when you come to the desired function, which in your case will be, focus Skype,tab to the next button and click it. You will be able to assign the key or key combination you want. After validating and saving your preference, this hotkey will open and close Skype.
