Hello, I am not Doug of course, but I believe I can help answer this
question. As you have indicated in your message Skype 4.0 is still in beta.
This by definition means that it is still a moving target. So therefore,
developing scripts for a beta product takes considerably more time and
effort than any stable release.
Before updating the scripts any further Doug will need to see what internal
accessibility implementation is made. for a beta product it would be sort
of pointless to implement accessibility only to find that internal
implementation, was made later
also, if any user interfaces are changed. The scripts will necessarily need
to undergo some sort of adjustment.
Doug is meeting with developers to discuss accessibility implementation I
think we can all rest assured that once Doug knows what accessibility
implementation will be made and what user interface changes will be made
that Skype scripts for 4.0 will be made available for jaws for Windows.
I would also love to see Doug examine window eyes, and perhaps develop
scripts for Skype for that product as well. GW micro has provided scripts
for window eyes, but they are nowhere near as robust as the ones we have for
jaws.
I hope this information is useful.
Thank you for reading.
