Hi there!
I'm still 3.8 user and I admitt, never tried Skype 4 on my PC. I don't say
that I don't believe people when they say that sound and video quality is
better and that we, as a blind comunity should walk up with the newest
technology, but, there's a thing between comodity and beeing up to date with
software.
I know all my shortcuts in Skype 3.8, I could almost use it with speakers
turned off, that's how shortcuts and other stuff is organised in 3.8. In
Skype 4 there are lots of uncomfortable shortcuts, lots of Jaws cursoring
around and frankly I don't see the need for simple every day user to
upgrade. I like to do my work fast and oficient, that's why I still use
Outlook Express and Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla thunderbird and
Firefox and that's why I'm stickin' to MSN instead of using Miranda IM.
Sorry for my contemplation here, what I wanted to say is, if you can't find
your way through Skype 4, downgrading to 3.8 is the best idea I can give
you. Doug will probably improove Skype 4 scripts when the Skype developers
solve some issues with accessibility in general, but 'till then... 3.9 stays
on my PC and that's a recommendation.
