[Skypeenglish] having trouble with my usb headset while using skype

Friends, I'm having a bit of trouble.
i was trying to call someone on skype this morning.
Now there's this thing in the newest update to jaws where you can switch 
sound cards. My usb headset was one of them.
I was able to get my jaws going through my headset, but I couldn't even move 
my volume up or down on the control that's on the headset for the 
microphone.
is there something I need to adjust?
or fix?
or am I  the only one that's having this issue?
