Randy, Check if your microphone is muted smoewhere. This morning something happened here after installing a software having to do with recording. Turned out, everyone heard jaws talking loud thre the computer. I wore headphones. I tested my microphone on sound recorder. I didn't hear myself after test recording but jaws talked very loud in the recording.
I had to uninstall the software trying to try it out. After removing that softwar out. The problem remained. I went into sounds and audio devices. I forget where, but saw something having to test the harware on the computer. Once completed my microphone worked. I did a few touchups of the volume controls. Now I can use my microphone well and no jaws is recorded in sound recorder. I then tested my audio on skype test call. All is running smotthly again. By the way. Let skype adjust the audio for you. I had it unckecked a very long time ago. It seemed to affect the microphone when going voice in windows live messenger. Good luck.
